User Interaction:
- Ensure that the active layer has a geocoding index built. The layer name will have the
icon after it.
- Single-Click on the
button.From the geocode an address
Pop-up: - Enter an address (1).

- Next enter a Zip Code (2).

- If geocoding a street intersection, enter the cross street (3).
Note: Make sure there is no house number in the address box when geocoding an intersection. - Single-Click the execute button (5) to search for the address.
Or
- Single-Click Cancel (6)to exit the pop-up without geocoding.
Requirements:
- There must be an active layer.
- The active layer must have a geocoding index built. The layer name will have the
icon after it.

Limitations:
- Only layers with a geocoding index built will give results.
- Only one geocoded point per layer is allowed.
Results:
- After the
button is Single-Clicked the geocoding pop-up will appear. - After the execute button (5) is single-clicked the geocoded address will be highlighted on the map, if there is any.
- If any addresses were found, a list (4) of the potential matches is returned to the geocoding pop-up. The basic format of the list is:
- Score: the percent likelihood that the address entered matches a feature in the layer
- Address: the address in the active layer.
- The address is also an html link (7). Single-Click the address link to select, pan, and zoom to the geocoded candidate.
- Zip Code: the zip code in the active layer.
Note: If the first candidate has a score equal to or greater than 80 the application will automatically choose this as the result.
