Description: This button will open a pop-up for the user to enter and execute a query for searching features in a layer, by the selected features in another layer. User Interaction:
- Single-Click on the button.
- The application will provide a list of layers in the map (1) Single-Click or choose a layer to query ( to select features from).
- The application will provides a second list of layers in the map (2) Single-Click or choose a layer to use as the overlay (using selected features from).
- Enter a distance to search around the selected features (3) in the active layer (can be 0).
- Choose or Single-Click a unit (4) for the distance (3)
- Single-Click the execute button (5) to execute the query
OR
- Single-Click the cancel button (6) to cancel and exit the pop-up.
Requirements:
- There must be an active layer.
- There must be selected features in the active layer.
Limitations:
- There is a limit to 2000 selected features.
- The units can only be miles or feet.
- The units must be greater than 0.
Results:
- After the button is Single-Clicked a pop-up will appear.
- After the execute button (5) is Single-Clicked the selected features will be highlighted on the map, if there is any.
If no features are highlighted then: - The user may have to zoom to the selected extent
Or - The user should check the TOC for the total number of selected features.Or
- The user should ensure that there is an active layer and it is visible.Or
- The user should ensure that the units is a number greater than 0.
